In what sense

Jane Austin - Mansfield Park - a conversation between several characters, the main two being Fanny price and Henry Crawford.

Henry is trying to tell Fanny how much he loves her but she is rejecting him. He eventually sats that her rejection is killing him, and she replies "no man dies of love but on the stage". Meaning she doesn't believe it - that only happens in fiction not in real life

My opinion men often die of a broken heart!

people die a little when it's requited love that goes on too long
people die when a true love fades or is taking quickly away.
I thought it meant that real love could make a man die. I guess I was confused. and I guess it would be a good way to go.
