Noah's arc follow up question?

According to google there are over 60,000 vertabrate animal species in the world and over 1.2 million invertabrate animal species. Please explain with logic how two of each could fit in an arc. Also explain how even a large group of people could feed them all daily. Even if you just allowed 3 square feet of deck space per animal that is 7,560,000 square feet. That is 1,000,000 more square feet than the Pentagon.

An even larger problem would be the lack of genetic diversity. A species that is reduced to a single mating pair would not be viable. Tigers will soon be extinct because of this problem. We have tigers, but not enough to sustain the species.

It's an allegory, leave it at that :/
P.S- there were 7 of every clean animal so that would make even more :)

It made easier when they left the "freak" animals behind - unicorns and pixies.

LOL @ Christian myth. Does anyone other than the occasional deluded Fundamentalist really take a literal interpretation of Scripture anymore? You might as well ask to alchemal formula for turning water into wine or the science behind spontaneous human ressurrection.

You don't really believe that. You just want to see if anyone is silly enough to try and answer it, right? LOL

back in Old testament times, Moses led 2 million people & animals out of Egypt....they wandered the desert for 40 years and only 2 (yes two) were allowed into the promised land.

During that 40 years they weren't able to farm the land, so the Lord sent them fresh manna every morning. for 2 million people to eat

Nothing is impossible for God

With God....anything is possible....and many times, our human minds, just cannot comprehend it.....He is supernatural....with supernatural ability....It's good that you are reading up on this stuff....but, at some point, you are going to have to decide if you believe it, or you don't....you can't straddle the fence forever.

Most high cultures had a flood myth; the Mesopotamians (where we get ours), the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Hindus, even the Maya and the Aztecs.

The reason is simple, early farmerss tended to build their villages in the marshy areas near year-round rivers. At some point it was inevitable there would be a very wet year upstream and a massive flood in the marshes. To them, it would seem as though everything in the known world were flooded and those who survived would consider themselves as being asked to restart their entire "race". They would also invent some justifiaction (other than chance) as to why they were "chosen" to survive.

It happened in many places at many different times and so, appears in many differnt oral traditions.

The bible, in my opinion, is not meant to be taken literally.

Hi Fourandahalfdays
You ask to explain the logic of a parable. Isn't that like asking what is the color of money? There is another question like: is the religious parable form helpful or confusing? I suppose the same applies to other art forms but I guess Religion claims more for itself. Don't know if this helps at all?
