put it this way...when apathy sets in you don't even care about ignorance...or anything for that matter...

Ignorance is being uneducated or uninformed on a topic. Apathy means not caring about the topic one way or another.

Have you actually READ St. Thomas Aquinas? Thomas Merton? Augustine? Or any other of the brilliant minds of faith, whose writing shines with intelligence and spirituality? They are about as far from ignorance as a human could be.
