    Ignorance is being uneducated or uninformed on a topic. Apathy means not caring about the topic one way or another.

    Recoiling in disgust is not the same thing as apathy.
    For ignorance, especially willful ignorance, look no further than the religious.

    Have you actually READ St. Thomas Aquinas? Thomas Merton? Augustine? Or any other of the brilliant minds of faith, whose writing shines with intelligence and spirituality? They are about as far from ignorance as a human could be.
