This very same thing happened to my daughters.....You are in puberty, and the hormone thing is what is to blame....There is often a "pudgy" time for girls, and you are in the age group for it to happen...

My daughter's never got heavy, but they did try to slim down, and nothing worked, no matter how much they exercised.....

Good news is....this too, shall pass...,.it is all temporary.....so, be patient...you are doing everything right, and you are perfectly normal.

By the way, you should be getting 10 hours of sleep every night....very important.

You are probably building muscle instead of burning fat. I lost 100 lbs. over the course of two years, but I hit a wall after about 30 lbs. I stoped losing and gained about 5 back. I was up at 5am. every day doing my taebo for an hour. I had a balanced diet and just couldn't figure out why I had stoped losing, until I noticed the muscles! Keep exercising, but put the weights DOWN!

I would discuss this with a medical Practictioner!

We all have our theories, but only a medic can know

the realities!

Are you getting enough sleep? Recent studies show that if you get a steady 7-8 hours it makes managing your weight easier.

could just be your genetics...but I would say go to your doctor- he could help a LOT I think.

The basic answer is a disconnect between calories going in and calories going out. Somehow, you are keeping more than you are shedding. It might be a thyroid issue. Hypothyroidism can cause essentially unbeatable weight gain, but I'm not sure when it usually emerges.

I think straight number of pounds is a misleading indicator of 'weight' since athletes can actually register as 'obese' on that broad brush indicator. And heroin addicts can be stick thin/weigh nothing/look like runway models.

Maybe if you exercise instead of exterise you would lose some weight.

You may need to change your diet to match your metabolism.

Just keep eating healthy and being active. Eventually it will even out. You're in puberty so who knows, your body might be preparing itself for a big growth spurt and you're about to add height. If you start restricting your diet and not give your body what it needs, this might really mess up your growing.

My best advice? See a doctor, get a physical exam. You could have a thyroid problem and not even know it - see a doctor as soon as you can.

Stop stressing about it.
If you eat healthy and exercise then you will do fine.
You are going through puberty, and if you continue eating healthy and exercising then you will be perfectly fine once your body finishes developing.
If you stress about it it will cause pain and problems for you, and could actually cause you to gain unhealthy weight.

One of the best sites I've seen that deals with nutrition and teenagers is teen sparkpeople. Do a web search and it will come up (I dont know if we are allowed to do links here) If you start over there, youll loose weight, have fun and develop really good habits while doing it.
