Bypass congress and implement the laws he favors. How can he do this?

He can't. That's not the way our system of government works. The President keeps Congress in check and Congress keeps The President in check. It's designed that way to prevent a dictatorship or any one leader having complete control over the people. Don't forget, this is about the people not one man having absolute power. If any of the former Republican Presidents had, had that kind of power you wouldn't like it would you?

Best Answer

That's what it's created for, but the Republicans don't want to implement anything he proposes-even if it's reasonable.

Best Answer

If they had won, they would have had absolute power.

Best Answer

Higher taxes and killing more unborn children is not "reasonable".

Best Answer

Higher taxes is and that's going to be the moter's decision. Obama just made it a personal decision

Declare himself Emperor and have his stormtroopers burn down the Capitol building.<br />

Seriously, that misses the point entirely of having more than one branch of government. What he needs to do is persuade Congress to compromise with him, as there's just a deadlock as it is.

Best Answer

How? If the Republicans have decided to go against everything.

Best Answer

I don't know. To be honest it seems like a pretty ludicrous system -- I can see how it could work if the government was full of rational people who have slightly different visions for the direction they want the country to go, but at the moment it's full of career politicians who actively define their policies in opposition to each other's parties. Seems like America needs at least a third party if it's ever going to find a solution to such deadlocks.

Best Answer

That's why I am asking. Can't he propose something and get the people to help get it passed.

Best Answer

Expect Odumbo to declare himself "Der Fuhrer" any day now.

Best Answer

In 4 years you'll still be waiting.

Best Answer

But not voting. That won't be allowed.

Best Answer

Like I said, you'll be waiting forever, then.

Best Answer

What part of "bypass congress" is inconsistent with declaring himself dictator?

Best Answer

He hasn't done it.

Best Answer

But you advocate it as the "most important" thing he should do. Are you now saying he won't?

Best Answer

He probably won't, but what would be done, instead?

Let us hear your solution, genius.

Best Answer

following the laws of congress and democracy

Best Answer

He tried that, but the Republicans don't want him to win.

Best Answer

well then talk to the people who voted republicans in. We aren't going to bypass laws because you think your opinion is above others that lawfully voted politicians in that stop a president you voted in.
