Only God Can Forgive?

To me, god is in the mind. So saying "only god can forgive" is ultimately saying "forgive yourself".

Pfft, there is no such thing as god.

I don't know who this "new age jesus" is but my Jesus taught that everyone can forgive and should forgive, and that we should forgive as we would wish to be, in other words, show the utmost of mercy because what more could we want. The acts of God can be done through people. When we are doing good, it is God. So when people forgive, God is forgiving and we owe gratitude to both.

I believe that we should forgive and forget! When someone else cannot forgive us then we can seek out God's forgiveness and forgive ourselfves as well! Other peoples forgiveness is between them and God.

We cannot be forgiven, if we do not forgive. As you said, The Lords prayer.

But you can interprete the bible and it's teachings in two different ways; literaly or figuratively.
So in the literal sence one might think god (the supreme being) must forgive you for your sins,
But in the figuative sence (where I sand) god is just an image and you can only forgive yourself because that's what matters.
I'm not too good with words, so I hope you acctualy get the point I'm trying to make.

You are a little out of context on part of your question. It is true God is the only one to forgive you of sin and release you from the punishment of sin. Sin is defined as doing something God does not want you to do or not doing something God wants you to do.
The other is forgive those who sin against you personally. This is simply talking about those who have done something to wrong you personally. They still have the issue of sin before God and we do not have the authority or power to wipe away their sins. If someone sins towards God or others we can do nothing for them. We do not have that ability.
