Our new oven killed the first thing we cooked in it, why?

Our son put a frozen pizza on the rack.....and it melted. The house was full of smoke....we had to order out a pizza.
Is it because the oven was new?? weird....it is a gas oven.

I think that it is a news oven....and you might not be use to it...read the book that came with it.....ANd if you still have questions..>Well call where ever you got it from....
