lol... I'm in my early 40s and sadly I forgot my own birthday two years ago... seriously... my wife (at the time) actually reminded me with a phone call telling me she was taking us (me and the kids) to dinner for my B-day. I literally had forgotten that date had shown up on the calendar.

This is the first time I've forgotten myself for a couple of hours, today. But, it hurt that those closest to me forgot...

Most years, I forget my own birthday. I quit doing the birthday thing when I forgot one and they got nasty about it. I don't send cards or gifts any more. I don't want to receive any either.

In all honesty, I did forget today for a couple of hours. But I was/am still not ok with those closest to me forgetting. It's the stresses of my situation that I think caused myself to forget for those couple of hours....

lol!!! I had done away with the FB birthday thingy because I think if I matter at all then those I matter to should remember. But, I'm talking about the 3 only people who are closest to me... my two sons, and one other person....

I understand. Really, I do. I just don't expect too much and I don't let them embarrass themselves.
