Photographing concerts/gaining permission.
I know I asked about how to photograph concerts, and there isn't much I can do except just practice and practice and practice more.
But, I wanted to know what the big deal is about the damn photo pass. I understand concert photographers work mainly for magazines like the popular rock magazine such as Kerrang and whatnot, and they're on assignment.
But what about us photography students who wish to get into that field? Shouldn't we have a say in the matter?
I went to go see Black Veil Brides last night and was declined to take photos 'cause my pass wasn't from a magazine, but from a worldwide photography site that allows you to get into events such as concerts.
The venue is a-ok with the idea, but why does it ALWAYS have to be up to the tour manager? I'm just taking pics for my photojournalism project and I'm offering the venue and the band my images with no price.
I just HOPE the manager will say yes after I spoke to the venue's manager in Allentown for BVB's next show.

I would look into that site giving you your money back. If it's up to the tour manager, the site really doesn't have any say.
