I am a man, but since I do have some medical experience, I've taken the liberty of answering anyway.
One thing it could be is a large blood clot, in which case there would be no reason to worry about.
The other thing, although to my knowledge it's a rare occurence, is maybe a fetus that might have died. Since you are young, I don't believe it to be likely.
To my knowledge, it is not possible to loose any of your intestines through your rectum or your vagina.
The only way you can make sure that you are safe is to go and see your gynecologist.
Nothing to it. It is understandable that the changes going on in your body right now can be frightening. They can be frightening to boys your age as well, however, they don't admit it easily.
Then it's probably just clotted blood. Nothing to worry about imho. However, if you are still concerned, you should talk to some adults there, meaning your parents.
As Women our bodies are cleansing during our periods each month.
What you saw was more than likely normal. If it appears to be a jelly like
substance etc. do not worry that is just a natural process. If you feel this is of excess for any reason do go to a GYN and get a check up the best
thing we can do for ourselves when in doubt is get proper attention to
the potential problem if there be one.
((((((((bighugs))))))))))) ..firstly as others have said its probably just a clot hun, is your period heavier than normal? personally my periods vary so much from month to month, sometimes the clots are scarily big, ask your mum to take you to the doc....try and get back to bed, get a hot water bottle for your tummy, and relax hun, if your bleeding really heavily though and really scaring you wake up your mum - seriously your health is important and your mum wont mind being woke!
(((((((((((hugehugs))))))))))) try and get some rest hun xxxx
Its probably just a blood clot. If it was just the one then I wouldn't worry about it. If it keeps happening you should contact your doctor or if you are bleeding heavy. Its probably because you were laying down all night so it clotted. But im not a doctor by any means so please make sure you talk to one if you think something is wrong.
Possibly a blood clot, and while that may not be serious, hemorrhaging can be. Small clots during your period are not to be concerned with, but if you are feeling them pass then they may be too big and it could be a sign of something else going on.
GO to your doctor, and he/she will either allay your concerns or send you for an ultrasound just to see what's happening, especially since you've said you're bleeding heavily.
Probably the uterus lining wich comes out with your period time to time
1} The fact that you had your period in the first place mostly means everything is alright.
2} The uterus is like a closed sack almost and NOT attached to intestines.
3} Contents of periods come from the uterus through the vagina.
4} If it was like a piece of flesh, see your doctor immediately.
5} 98.99% chances are that it was just a big chunk of clotted blood lining leaving the uterus without breaking down into smaller chunks first which can look scary but is normal and healthy mostly.
6} Good that you checked. It's better to ask a question than to sit and wonder and worry yourself to death ! so anyways good for ya :)
Questions like these happen because no one wants to educate kids about their bodies in school anymore. *sigh*
Blood clots don't come under the normal heading of changes in bodies.
Well, its still imperative girls and boys know what's going on with their bodies so they won't feel scared and misinformed.
I remember those days of being unsure of new changes..of course I cannot say or sure what it is, as I'm not a doctor but it sounds similar to just a period...and women who have periods have all kinds if different periods..some light some heavy some with smaller clots..it probably looks funny...I'm sure it's probably just your period, but incase you continue to worry, which I don't think is necessary :) then just see your doctor! Relax :) us women and young women can relate...ok! Everything's gonna be just fine I am sure...
But to ease your mind, visits-a doctor who will help you relax :)
If you've had sex recently, it could be an early miscarriage (happened to me recently). It also could've been a blood clot. I would go to the doctors, otherwise there is no way of knowing and it would just ease your mind.
She's 13...or 15 I hope she's not having sex :)
How can one be sure nowadays?
We would all hope not but the reality of it is, it happens and a lot of early miscarriages just get mistaken for heavy periods.
