Possible to work things out with an ex?

I broke up with him on impulse and possible insecurities, then was miserable by the next day. He didn't want to take me back, and moved on and dated someone else a month later but was cheated on. We have recently been hanging out as well as intimate again. Feels great like how we were when we first dated 7 months ago.
He tells me things to make him sound as if he's changed for the better (more plans & goals in life ect.) And seems more thoughtful. Only problem is, I don't know if it's just for the intimacy and don't want it to turn into that.
Anyone out there have a similar experience, and did things work out or not?

yes
u r friends, good work, keep it that way until maybe u both will not be able to hide it anymore.
dont expect anything, it was ur bad in the first place.
Let him know you care but dont let hom know you want him back. Be a good friend, be there for him, But not All the time, say no sometimes even if you dont want to " oh Iam so sorry but I have to go to this seminar on cooking tonight, My friend begged me to come. I will catch you later, Have a good night" bad example but whatever lol.
Dont try to hard but put the effort in. Good luck.

that would all depend on what the "X" was wanting to work out in the 1st place.

ugh, I think we all have been on that side of the fence. My ex is history another life time even. I was married so it's not the same but if you can handle it without going through anxiety and can trust his words than go for it. If not than well you are prolonging the inevitible.
