Resolved Question

Preference for C-Section because looks?

Ladies, my profession is healthcare and I mean this question seriously, not just trying to give you a hard time. First off, some women "need" to have a c-section. Second, a c-section is convenient in that it can be scheduled. But, I really believe there are a significant number of women who prefer a c-section because they want to stay tight and youthful looking "down there". In other words, they'd rather have the c-section scar than risk being loosey looking down there. What are your thoughts? vlowery1105, you're either in denial or showing your age, go look this crap up on google, there is ample discussion about it. It may not be that the "typical" woman thinks that way or that is it extremely common, but there are PLENTY of women who do think that way.

I'm sorry vlowery. but he's right.. women do think that way
I have known women that have wanted a c-section.. for that exact reason.. =l
but their doctors did not allow it ..
well, hopefully because it's ridiculous
and also very unnecessary.

I also cannot deliver
It may kill both my innocent littleness and me =(

I know women who have chosen to have c-sections because of the fear of the pain of labor. But not to keep their vagina "fit".

My first child was a c-section due to him being in the breech position. I begged my midwife to allow me to deliver and she wouldn't do it. I was drugged, my child was whisked away for at least 2 hours before I was able to breastfeed him, and even then I was so out of it on morphine that I couldn't do it. I was never able to successfully breastfeed him, which was another heartbreak.

Recovering from a c-section was absolute hell for me. So, so painful. I couldn't get in and out of bed without searing pain, let alone care for my infant to the best of my ability. Thankfully my parents helped me, as the child's father was nowhere to be found. I can hardly remember what he was like as an infant due to extreme pain and narcotics for pain management.

A week after the caesarean it absessed. The incision broke open and gushed blood and fluid. I thought I was dying. This made my scar even thicker and uglier than it would have been.

I was in pain for at least six weeks, like a fire in my gut. I couldn't even walk without crying.

The muscles were sliced, separating them and creating a flap (really attractive, right?). I call it the slab of meat.

My second child was a V-BAC. Unfortunately it had to be in a hospital. I would have preferred to be at home or in a birthing center, but having had to go the surgical route the first time I was forced to give birth in a medical environment.

Because of the c-section, I was heavily monitored. I was not allowed to be in the position that made me most comfortable. I could not deliver completely naturally, as was my wish. I had the epidural and gave birth vaginally. It was beautiful, truly. He was able to come straight into my arms and we bonded immediately. I nursed him immediately and never had any trouble with it.

Going home with my second baby was joyful. I was able to care for him all alone. I was able to get around with absolutely no trouble. Recovery was an absolute breeze. No pain. It was NORMAL.

A secret that I withold from most people is that I feel closer to the second child.

Hope I cast some light on your ideas here. I've had it both ways and for me, there is no option. Any women that would elect a surgery over something as natural as childbirth is AN IDIOT.

I don't know how many women are so vain as to want to give up the chance to give birth to their child naturally just to stay "attractive".

As for me..I can not deliver.

my ex-wife had births both way's. first son was born c-section, second natural. to tell ya the truth, there was no difference as far as tightness or looseness...whatever, after they've had time to heal it goes back into shape as what it was before. so i'm callin' b.s. unless of course the woman is giving birth to an elephant :P

My wife had to get a C because the baby was too big (3.5Kg) and she's a shorty. Anyhow, baby is now almost 2yo but my wife's still battling to get her tummy back to normal.

Things have changed drastically in the last 10-15 years. Yes, women really are that vain. However, with vaginal rejuvenation surgery available, it doesn't matter, does it?

I had to have both of my c-sections, because my pelvis is too narrow. I scheduled my 2nd child's birth, because honestly I didn't want to have to go into labor when I knew the outcome was going to be the same as the 1st time, I wouldn't be able to deliver vaginally. There was no point in going through the pain again.
