start with all of the garbage, once that is gone, tackle the big clutter and work your way through till you can see progress. At this point, you will want to have a beer break...<br />

Some of you guys answering on here are so immature. Always try to work on one area at a time....as in don't start working on the kitchen for 2 minutes and then all of a sudden switch to the living room. Try focusing on one area at a time, that way your brain doesn't get intimidated by the amount of work that's ahead. Forget about the rest of the house while you're working on that specific area and this will enable you to work harder. Start with placing ob<x>jects back to where they belong and throwing away things you don't need or trash lying around. This will free up the space and then you can move onto vaccuming. After that, dust the place and wipe surfaces down.
Have a slave competition between 4 or 5 for fastest & cleanest.
Hire a maid service.
