    It depends on the person, that's what it comes down to. Some people get annoyed at being mock insulted and picked at 24/7, some people give it right back. I'd say if a friend or partner tells you, hey, that annoys me, as THEIR friend YOU should be the one to knock it off. That's a true friendship :)

    If it is a constant litany of put downs, after awhile, that routine gets old. It might work for a kid, but adults begin to desire more worth from a friendship than constant belittleing.
