Resolved Question

Science suddenly proves the existence of God. So...?

what? What difference would it make? Would you change your ways? Would the world suddenly become different? Would atheists suddenly become missionaries? I don't understand the significance of proving the existence of God. Personally, I know that He exists but do not feel compelled to convince others. I think the only difference would be that people would hate a God that they know exists instead of a God that they deny exists. What are your thoughts if any?

What a conundrum religion is. If you don't believe, its because you don't have faith. You can't ask God to show himself, because you aren't allowed to test him. Who makes up all these rules? Is it God or a man or group that wants to maintain control over those who want to believe so badly?

And whats the harm in belief in God? None, as long as you don't let others warp your beliefs into the silliness of statements, such as "science is rubbish!"

The same "rubbish" that allows you to post your thoughts via a chain reaction of valence electrons over copper wires, light impulses through fiber optic cables to be stored as magnetic data on a metal platter? That would have been created by man.

Its not up to science to prove God exists, that would be up to God.

I like what you say, and in that senario, your answer is probably right. However what do you think about, if the reverse were to happen? And science disproved? You say you know. I can cope if it is proven, as I don't know. Could you cope. Would you still worship a god that had been disproven?

Well if he exists i would have some good words for him for makeing us all suffer down here. I don't believe in god anymore. But if they proved, and there was a logic to what they say hmm I don't know what if it would change I would just be very angry at god =]

assuming i was convinced of this god, it would only validate my beliefs that god is completely ineffectual in influencing the events of this world.
this god seems only effectual on a personal level through people with a faith in this parental figure.

Actually it has been proven far better than any evolutionist "theories" If you'd like to find these proofs from historians, scientists and even the many atheists who had found the truth, there are many resources such as the Creation Research Institute in Irvine, CA. Simply put the world will not believe because they are blinded and seek to make God in their image. No offense to you, but I'm getting the impression this is a question meant to sow seeds of doubt or possibly to justify the fact that you won't share what you say you believe for fear of being persecuted. All believers will be persecuted if they stand up for what they know to be true. It's easy to hide behind the 'live and let live' philosophy which is even now causing famine and sufferring throughout an apathetic world.

Yes well,..seeing a mirage in the desert, does not prove the existence of a freshwater lake......From what i have seen,..the believers in god have a very looney idea of what "god" actually is...
Similar to having mice in the cupboard and convincing yourself they are all Easter Bunnies...
Similar to schizophrenic phenomena seeming very, very real.....Still,..joining a church can get you far in life,..so don't let me stop any of you:)

So...? Nothing I guess. People will believe what they want to believe. Those who have been insecure would rejoice and be smug, perhaps.

hose who have not been believers would break their backs trying to dispute it and the world would've gone the way it has always been.

I am a believer and like you, I don't need scientific proofs on which to base my faith.

Never. Because its object is the visible dust.
Scientists know nothing about God when they deprive themselves the learning of Religion.

I'd be glad that science has finally found a toehold on the unholdable.

I'd use it if it favored my views - argue against it if it did not, mayhaps it would form new theories to be explored ^^

Religion isn't about learning, pukirahe. It's about denying new learning.
