Seriously, what is the difference between Soup and Puree?

To me, Broccoli Soup is nothing but pureed broccoli?

Soup is soup whilst Puree is a blended mix to make it

smooth!

SummerWind18	Posted Sep 14th, 2009 at 3:38PM well, soup is vegetables plus water, but may include puree depending on type. Puree, while it may be included in soup, is different because it involves taking a vegetable and blending it in a blender until it is like a milkshake texture. Not that I'd ever make such a puree as I'm not too fond of veggies which are mushy. Rated: +1Vote for this!
