Resolved Question

Share something about your childhood?

Mine revolved around my family, Saturday morning cartoons, recess, and of course Michael Jackson. And reading.

Every other year, we would visit our distant relatives in India. My uncle would load us all into his bus and we would drive to a palm tree forest on the land owned by one of my other uncles. The women would cook rice porridge in a giant cauldron while the men climbed nearby coconut trees and cut open the coconuts for us to drink the water inside. As for us children, we would run along the paddy fields playing games.

My friends and I used to ride our bikes around the neighborhood playing 'Mario Brothers', we would hit mailboxes(not hard, just with our hands) and pretend they were blocks that mushrooms would come out of.

My first stepdad cooked like a chef. Our favorite cooking activity was to make homemade bisquits and use small cookie cutters for their pattern. When they would finish cooking we would put butter on them and eat them. They were really delicious. He would also cook homemade "Boston Baked Beans" the old fashioned way with molasses. One time he even made "Plum Oatmeal." I hate Plums but he made it so good that you could not taste the plum flavor, the coloring gave it away though. lol

I was just thinking about this earlier.
Penny candy! Just think for $1, 100 pieces of candy!
I loved the wax soda's. You bit the top off, drank them and then chewed the wax to get that last little bit. And...candy cigarettes (yeah well, they didn't know then) that actually blew powdered "smoke" from the red candy tipped ends and had bubble gum as a filter. OH AND...hell, I'll end up listing 100 different candies *LOL *
I think I'm hungry...dinner time!

Tried to make a cake and frosting from scratch with my bro and sis. Cake came out ok, but the frosting was pink, oozing, and ALIVE apparently. It got on EVERY surface in the house. We ran around the house with cleaner & paper towels shouting "PINK STUFF, PINK STUFF" whenever we spotted it and wiped it out. So we pretty much saved the planet from our misguided creation before it had a chance to destroy the Earth.
