Short Sale: Pay Mortgage IF Sale is Within Grace Period?
I am selling my home through a short sale on the 8th of the month. My mortgage payment is due on the 1st, but I have a 15 day grace period. Do I need to pay the mortgage for the month if I am selling it 8 days into the month before the grace period runs out? What are the ramifications if I do this (will my credit be further impacted)? As a side question, I am filling out paperwork and it asks, “Approx. date of last payment before closing” do I put in the last month I am paying or the month that the house is selling?
