That describes my family too. One of my brothers only contacts my brother, me or my mom when he needs money. My mom was sick all day and ended up having to goto urgent care, and her husband spent all night and then all day Christmas Eve in the hospital, and all my brother cared about was money. He didn't care that our family dinner party was cancelled. Needless to say Christmas has been a disappointment so far. Looking forward to Chinese food and The Hobbit with my brother, half brother and dad :D
Maybe because you know your parents will be dead in a decade, or so, and you're holding on to the hope that one year you all will have a quiet and peaceful Christmas. IDK. Just guessing here.
Because they are your family. I am estranged from mine. I don't miss the dysfunction, but still, something is missing. Hang in there!
Ah, yeah... but I think the younger kids are just on a mission to find themselves and so its not really estrangement, just a leave of absence. At our age, we just get tired of the bullsh!t. At least for me anyway.
my family's jewish so i dont bother and i went to my friends house, no fighting there, maybe you shouldnt go next time if thats whats going on
So you don't miss the show!!
