Should a deputy DA, charged with DUI, get PAID LEAVE? It's happening in Colorado Springs, CO.?

A deputy district attorney was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend. She'd ran a red light and wrecked. The city government has put her on PAID LEAVE until her trial. Do you think she should keep working until her trial and earn her money? That a paid suspension is fine? Or that she should be suspended without pay, being what her position is, until prosecution is final?

Innocent until PROVEN guilty

The system applies to them as well as you and I

If you were in that situation you would hope for the same considerations

Like the poster before me said :
Innocent until proven guilty.

Also, so long as she's employed,
she's still entitled to paid leave.
Come on man, you know that.

Suspended without pay, and have her drivers' license revoked permanently. Basically, they're giving her a paid vacation until her trial when she could have very easily killed someone. With a suspension, at least it could show up on her record if she tried to find another position. If it were the policy to permanently revoke the license of DUI offenders, or even just repeat DUI offenders, our roads would be much safer, in addition to governments saving money on enforcement and prosecution. Also, ER's would have less patients and car insurance costs would be lower.

She's innocent until proven guilty...that's the law. Her probably guilt is sufficient cause to suspend her from her job, but altering her pay status would be sentencing before the conviction. In this case, I don't like it, but consider the case of someone wrongly accused, and later found not guilty.

Technically, she's been charged with it, but she hasn't been found guilty, yet, which is what our judicial system is based on....Innocent, until PROVEN guilty.

she should be fired without pay and then treated as the criminal she is. Why are there two sets of laws?

a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but if said person is convicted he should pay back money and be punished twice as severely as anyone he sent to jail for same crime
