No, the blame rests squarely on the girl's shoulders because if she would've had sex with me instead of her boyfriend, she wouldn't have gotten pregnant because I use condoms. Hey, no glove no love because I wouldn't want to put anyone in a position where they were faced with going through with an unwanted pregancy or having an abortion.

i think both parties should be responsible for covering their ***** but, as a woman, i'm going to take the matter in my own hands and make sure i'm protected. i think if it's left up to most men, they aren't going to make sure it's done.

Hehe! He only started the baby; she ALLOWED it!
Unless, of course, it was not consensual... but I think we're not talking about that case.

I know, I know... it must be very difficult to say "no" to someone you love, who perhaps is very urgent in his desires; but like in physics, in biology too there are inevitable consequences - one just has to say NO, if those are to be definitely avoided.

No, no blame should be placed because of the pregnancy, rather the circumstance that caused it. Be careful and just listen and Love, people!

Takes two to tango, "she" knew what the consequences were going into the act, same as "he".

Only if he forced himself on you sweetie. Otherwise, it takes two to tango. But, do you know what? A baby is always good news - a part of you that will be on this earth and in your life. Someone you will love for the rest of your life. It's hard now, and raising a child is also hard, but it is also the most important thing you will ever do. If you can't raise the baby - someone else can do it - but you still bring a life into being. Good luck, hon.

Both the guy and the girl should equally have been responsible to see that they were protected.

Not unless the guy raped her. It's took both therefor both are to blame.

A few people have mentioned rape as a possible situation in which the guy is responsible.

Another possible situation is one in which the guy manipulates, emotionally abuses, or lies to the girl. For example, what if the guy threatened to leave her if she insisted that he used a condom? What if he said that he was infertile when he wasn't?

It's not always black and white. That said, in a healthy, consenting relationship, pregnancies are usually due to an act that two people agreed to perform. In this case, both people should be held responsible.

Even if she was raped by him, there's nothing to stop her from going and getting the morning after pill or something. In any situation, unwanted pregnancy is the fault of the boy and the girl - 50/50. If the guy is unprepared to use a condom, the girl should refuse to sleep with him. If she sleeps with him, regardless, then she shouldn't really blame him for getting pregnant, should she?

But, likewise, if the idiot male has sex without a condom on, he really should accept some responsibility if the girl gets pregnant...

They are equally responsible, so she should blame herself as much as she blames him.

i think it's time to stop blaming people and start thinking about the fate of this baby. you can fight over whose fault it is forever or you can work together to decide what is best for everyone. good luck!

Blame? I don't think that is the word we should be using here.....

Responsible? Both are responsible, unless one forced the other to do it....which isn't what this implies....

Facts of life....if you have unprotected sex....you could end up pregnant.....Both the guy, and the girl should already know that.

Assuming the boyfriend is the father, it's a 50-50 deal. I'd say he's off the hook if it was some other slug.
