Forgiveness is for YOUR benefit, not hers. If you don't want to spend the rest of your live carrying a festering sore inside you, forgive her and let it go.

Did you actually rape her or was it just an accusation?

Yes. Forgiveness helps YOU live a happy life. Just because you forgive someone doesn't mean that you are approving of what they did, or saying that what they did was excusable. Carrying around resentment doesn't hurt anyone except for you. Please, I cannot say it enough, forgiveness helps YOU, NOT the person you are forgiving.

Perhaps yes...if she has major issues. But I'd never trust her again.

There's a lot more details to be considered.

I sense the implication that you were wrongly accused, but you don't QUITE come out and say it.

Did she retract her unjust accusation and apologize?

Does she still believe it was you?

Did you consider it consensual at the time and she later rescinded her consent?

Does the opposite do you any good?

Was she laughing when you rape her? If she was, then no forgiveness should be rendered. ;)

If she wasn't then what's her motive of accusing you of rape? If it was innocent, then just forget it, if it wasn't you owe it to other man that such accusations should not go unchallenged in court.

only if you raped her. otherwise sue her for defamation of character. thats not an acusation you want people messing around with so if you didn't rape her MAKE HER PAY.

Zen stories say yes. One of the stories is briefly like this: the monk was accused and he even accepted to happily nurture her child and contently returned the well-educated adult to his grandparents when they finally came and apologised.

you cannot kill another person by poisoning yourself so if you let her rent space in your head, you are wasting your own time

I don't know anyone who would blame RAPE on someone who they cared about?...especially if 'rape' is a violent crime and a federal/state offense...
