Miss,
Your profile name says a lot. Are you depressed? If so please seea professonal counseller and tell that person everything about this.
Are you looking for love and hoping this guy half your age acoss the ocean is the one for you? Sadly, I doubt it. I am afraid this guy is taking advantage of you. Ask yourself these questions.
One. Have I been asked for money? Have I sent him any money?
Two. If he hasn't asked for money has he related to you how his (fill in the blank relative) either needs an operation or is being unfairly prosecuted by the Gahaian authorities and they have Noooo idea how they can come up with the money?
Three. Has he asked you for any banking or credit card information? It could be for any number of reasons-needs to "hide" some money from the evil government, needs a safe place to put his savings since theGahnian banls are in trouble-any reason at all.
If there is a yes to ANY of these questions, Miss, I am sorry but your are being scammed big time.

If you must pursue this, i offer one suggestion. Require him to comr to Canada vice you heading to Ghana. If he loves you truly he will come. Buy him a ticket that he cannot cash in and ask him to come to you. Do not repeat do not send him the money to but the ticket on the excuse "he can get it cheaper".

Look I have suffered for depression myself. I know how vulnerable we can be when depression has us in its grip. That siad the answer is not in Ghana. It is right there in Canada. Try counselling, find a church or other religious porganzation and join, make friends there, reach out to co-workers or people with similar interests. try on line dating with peoplewho live within driving distance.

We ALL want and need love. It is what makes our stay on this rock worthwhile. Love is out there if look and you will find it closer than Ghana.

I will keep you in my prayers and I fervently hope that you dont fall victim here.

that depends on a lot of things...

how long have you been going out?
how serious are you?
do you both feel the same way about marriage?
are you both ready to get married?
would you two be compatible?
have you met him in person?

there are a lot of different things that would factor into whether you should or shouldn't.

You have to decide for yourself. Use solarxmoon's questions as a base guide.

I'm extremely skeptical of this whole scenario. Maybe I'm just cynical, but Africa is notorious for criminal scams. Just last week 2 foreign nationals were kidnapped by 419 scammers.

I have visited many African countries and I can tell you that traveling alone to Africa to meet a person you don't know is extremely risky business.

Once there, you'd be at the mercy of pretty much everyone. Even corrupt officials pose a threat. Africa doesn't have much in the way of policing. It would be very easy for you to disappear and no one would investigate. There are dozens of horrifying scenarios I can think up.

It's just a bad idea. Think very carefully before you embark on this journey.

Dear, it must come from both 2 sides, you and him. Did he ask you to come to Africa ? Where is he from? You know there are so many problems in Africa.
I agree with Solarxmoon. What happens if you are in trouble there? you will be still safe to return home at that time? Life is important.
