No, I mean that if you are spending money on getting certificates or certified ( which are often two different things) you absolutely want to know if it's worth you money. You only want to spend your time and effort working on things that are going to make you more competitive for position that you actually want (and exist). Most programs have placement after completion rates. You want to know if they have support to help you find position.
If you are in school already talk to your adviser or career services. Make sure anything you are doing fits with your goals and values. If you aren't sure what those are, do some assessments to find out.
