Resolved Question

Should I study abroad?

I'm torn between studying abroad and becom independent or study here and stay with my family

I really hate the country I live in right now, but in the same time I'm afraid of being alone in a foreign country
the university name is Western Ontario in Canada. It's ten times better than the university I'm currently in

If your local university provides the course you want....stay home

believe me, trying to study and hold down 2-3 jobs at the same time so you can afford the luxury of tuition AND food AT THE SAME TIME....can be far more traumatic than living at home......your time to spread your wings is AFTER graduation

Best of luck !

If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to do so then I say go for it. I have a friend who studied abroad for a year and she is so grateful to have had the experience.

Macleans magazine recently had an article about a girl in New England who was considering studying in Atlantic Canada. The financial savings available by going north were in the range of $20,000 - $30,000. I guess you can figure out where she ended up.

Unless they're sending you to Mogadishu and/or you will have to sell your family into slavery to pay for it, the answer is an avowed YES!

OK so you live in the UK. If you want to study abroad, just make sure that the qualification you get there will be valid over here if you want to work here. If you want to study in Canada, I suggest you get an emigration visa and a one way ticket. I have lots of relatives out there I havnt seen since I was a child, and I have never heard of any moving back!

If you have the means and opportunity to do so, go for it. I know I've been waiting years for the opportunity.

Just make sure you have your ducks in a row, and manage your finances wisely. Study the host country so you know what to expect in terms of culture, personal safety, and cost of living.

Go and study abroad only if what you want to learn is taught better there. Don't go out of dislike of your current place or situation now.

Go because what you care about, what you're passionate about is there. Escaping will only give you a moment's satisfaction. Good luck!

The University of Western Ontario is a safe and respected university. London, Ontario is a very safe city.
My office is at the gates of the university and you would be welcome here. Currently we have three students from China and they are comfortable here in their new temporary home.
The experience of foreign study can be as beneficial as the courses you are taking.
Peace
