Should I tell him before?

I'm getting my nose pierced for my 18th birthday. My father, who I do not live with, does not like piercings. I'm going to get it done BEFORE my party and I'm scared he'll cancel my party when he sees it.
Should I tell him BEFORE the party or should I surprise him?
(and don't answer that I shouldn't get it done, I'm doing it.)

i got my ear pierced when i was 13... my grandfather saw it and tried to rip it out... i hope your dad is more understanding than my gpa... but to answer the question... go for it!

midlifemadness	Posted Oct 15th, 2009 at 7:08PM If you fear he will cancel the party.. I would NOT surprise him with it. You need to be adult like and be honest and talk to him about it. I would recommend not saying..... IM GETTING IT cuz that will put him on the defensive. I don't care if you are 18, you still need to talk to your parents about it.
