Should I work as an au pair for a year, or rather study?
My cousins both au paired when they were younger, one is now married to an american, and the other returned home and has her life here. They have both inspired me to want to au pair, and I took a Gap year this year to do so. It is quite a lengthy process to join the au pair program, and I have finally managed to do so in Sept 2013. The problem is, I've spent a whole 9 months working and getting all my documentation together, and now have 3 months left of this year. That means, I'll be taking another year off from studying in order to au pair. Is it worth it? Should I just stick it out and do the au pair program for a year? Or should I rather just put those dreams aside and buckle down into some studying? I've invested a lot of time, energy and money into this au pair application, so I feel like all that would be a waste to just give up. But I'm also worried about being 2 years out of school trying to get into university. What do you guys think?
