under age 13, i don't see the point having your child be part of the internet, not unless it's a game or a tutorial, school related. I don't think 15 year old's should use the internet, but that is just my opinion.

Since the internet is a vast 'world' of content of all kinds, I would have to say 'no'; a lot of it is inappropriate and total nonsense. Impressionable minds need to be shaped by solid and well grounded information and advice.

no, for me if children use the internet in young age, it will get rid of their childhood.

The first job of parents is to teach children all the information and skills they will need to be adults. Your job is NOT to imprison them into a gilded cage year after year. Depriving children of knowledge is child abuse that is very harmful to children.

A lot of their school work is research based so internet becomes an integral part of their studies. Appropriate parental controls are needed though, as well the PC being set up in a common area perhaps.

Why not.. its a way of connecting to the world, why should they be deprived. What can be done is to control the viewing, keeping it more restricted to school work and class room projects, before they discover the ugly side of this technology. And also, these days with social sites going on strong, you can't really stop kids.
