Absolutely---no form of birth control other than abstinence is 100%. The pill only works against pregnancy, so what will protect you from an STD. Using condoms with the pill is a very good choice. You now have a good form of birth control along with a barrier to protect against STD's. NOw you don't have to worry about either---as long as you take your pill the exact way directed and DO not miss a day, and use a condom every time, even when he doesn't want to. No hormonally based contraceptive is %100 effective. If you really, really want to get as close as %100 as possible (without a vasectomy at least *wink*) add a condom to the mix. If you've already had sex and you're concerned than you could use the 'morning after' pill to be totally sure.

depends on if you have taken antibiotics recently and how long you have been on the pill. i've gotten pregnant on the pill after a sinus infection so you can never be to careful.
