oh man.. don't get me started.. my babez and I argue this all the time.

I think (tobacco) should. He thinks it's okay and people should be able to put whatever "poisons" in their bodies and kill themselves if they choose to.. so.. My retaliation is.. if that's the case.. then Meth should be legal too and I should be able to smoke it if I choose to =P lol

I don't see the difference.. like with alcohol.. all three get you high.. and three are addicting.. all three can harm the human body.... all three should be illegal ..

Mary has a good point though.

ps. by smoke I am referring to cigarettes.

There are still plenty of drugs that should be illegal, but the drug dealers have degrees hanging on their walls, and they write prescriptions!

Oh yeah right, because Prohibition just worked SO well in the 1920's. We got out of the Depression by legalizing alcohol.

What we need is the stock market to crash again here in the US, then hemp/cannabis would be made completely legal all over the place.

No, people need more highly addictive things to occupy their mouths so that they'll shut up for a few minutes and give me some peace.

I think the entire "war on drugs" is a farce and a waste of money. So no, I don't think smoking should be illegal. It's your money and your body. The government already taxes the heck out of it so they're getting plenty of tax revenue to boot.

I don't smoke, by the way.

I thought this was a free country. Who the hell is some rep. of the government to tell me what I can and can't put into my own damn body?!?!

Ha, that would cause more problems than it'd solve I think.
And I'd so kill for my right to nicotine. I am evil without it.

No. There are no pros to government feeling that they can govern what substances we put into our bodies.

It is a filthy habit. Did you ever look at the ground at a stop light? I ride a motorcycle, and there is usually a layer of cigarettes in every curb at a light. Personally, I don't care if people smoke, but it should be illegal for them to exhale and pollute my air with their smoke. And, if they are going to assault me with smoke, then I should get one free punch back at them per puff that I have to endure.

Nope. We've done a stellar job of enforcing the laws we have already (not!).

Either marijuana should be legalized and taxed with age restrictions, or alcohol and tobacco should be made illegal. The former is laughably harmless, especially compared to the latter.
