the camerlengo takes custody of the papal offices until a new pope is elected, so technically he is the vice pope.. I think....lol...

What a great idea. Never happen though. He is fervently believed to be the direct descendant of St Peter and cannot be seen as being any less than that. Having a deputy would diminish his stature.

Our Creators as just as much a part of us as we are Them. We don't need a pope to control the gates to heaven because ultimately the pope is no closer to God or Mother Goddess than any one of us.

That would probably lead to subterfuge and such..as the vice-Pope may get power hungry.

To me, the pope is like the King/Queen of England. Just a figurehead that no one takes seriously any more.

I think you should go for it... all you need is the ability to give speeches in Latin and away you go! You'd be filthy rich for life.

I think the only way to save the Catholic Church is to elect a Female Pope so She can see what the hell is going on in there? what if the Pontiff was blackmailed? Get a woman detective in there straight away

I think regardless of who they elect they have lacked relevance for several hundred years now and should stay out of politics and world affairs. Same with the Jews and Muslims etc. If they did the world would be a better place.
