No, that's not fair, and it's too much like communism.
And I don't think it's good for the economy.

Of course it should! It won't though, except through things like health care reform where poor people are benefited by coverage they lacked and rich people pay for it through various tax schemes which target only the wealthy, like taxing an individual's work-provided health care benefits above a certain level, the so-called "Cadillac health plans."

No it's the natural balance of life for some to have a lot and other not to. I think they should let the poor pay less taxes though.

wouldnt help, as those who are rich would just move to another country if the goverment did that...

the goverment would do better gettibg those with lots of money together and appleaing to them, to help out those less fortunate than them...

Only if they want to discourage innovation and further slow down economic recovery. I'm all in favor of the tax payers providing services that benefit the poor in certain ways, but equalizing income is not one of them.

No. The poor recieve way too much for way too long. There is no incentive to work. Too many pump out babires to get an income for life. Way too many are in the 4th or 5th generation of do nothing pure lazyness. This fat sloathfullness leads to insane idleness and violent crime. Look to the inner cities. 75 percent failure rate in schools, rampant deadly crime, anti social woe is me behavior, and they are never satified. They act as if they are intitled or they will riot and kill. I say let the low lifes starve and let the meager wages that companies pay go to those who earn it.

At the most I would say make welfare a very temporary safety net, and make those recieving it give something back to society.

As it is welfare and prisoners have better health care than hard working honest individuals.

It brings me ironic joy in a sense to see those sluggart cowards killing each other off on an almost hourly basis. One goes down and its one less leaching off society.

Cold hearted i know, but I've been paying all my life and they do nothing but complain for more. They deserve their self made lazy cesspool.

~ Peace be with you.

There are people out there who work so hard to support their families doing the best they can and still can't seem to get ahead taxes on this taxses on that. On the other hand theres the rich paying the same taxes of course they are not going to be effected so why not pay a percentage going by rate of ones income. Yesterday, I went to the Dentist a man walked in with a tooth ache and no insurance and no money to pay. They turned him away. He asked, "What is a poor man to do"? It was heart breaking. If only I had the money to help. Where was the rich to help that man?

it sounds great in theory, but the reality is less glamorous. The reality is that government is much better at enriching itself than giving to anyone. What good does it do to tax the rich when government merely replaces the elite with itself?

no, why would any1 want to better themselves then?? i don't think majority of the people want handouts 'cause of their lot in life, they want to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. the feeling of accomplishing something is powerful, the government would be taking autonomy away.
