Should there be an open season for manatees ?

During a visit to that watery marine park in Florida where they jail the dolphins , i was watching the manatees gently f a r t ing as they munched on lettuce when i saw this park "officer" who looked like a marine with the cap of his hat stuck down over his eyes and resting on his snot box like he was on parade . I couldnt resist it and told him i was a keen hunter (which im not ) and i asked him in which month i could bag a manatee and were there tours on which you could shoot them , you can imagine the response "sir , no sir , we dont hunt the manatee sir". What a shame i said as i walked off.He looked at me like he was going to arrest me. Why can the Americans unserstand "taking the piss ". Ill brace myself for the response.

I want to ask more questions.....but given what I know about manatees.....the short answer is no. Methinks you enjoy reactions.....lol.

People have actually tried to not only get them removed from the endangered species list, but get permits to hunt them or convince people to let them have "manatee farms" as a food source.
