Should we be able to answer our own questions?

I've always thought it makes no sense that you can't answer your own question. If it's a factual matter, you can do research and find out for yourself. If it's not you often want to respond to others' answers.

You can respond by editing details. If you knew the answer why the **** would you ask the question?

Yes, but it is better to get other people opinions

You've got this nice box for additional information, which you've obviously used yourself. Provide your answer there if you want to do so...

You'll get responses to that from the start too. Could be more interesting to have your own view tested this way.

You can't answer them, but you can edit your question, to add you point of view maybe.

no. If you want to respond to an answer, then PM them directly. I've had people do that and it works quite well. If you want an interactive posting option, then you can post it as a story or group instead of a question. Otherwise, what would be the difference between the two? And if you were already content to do your own research, then why did you ask others? Questions & Answers should remain just that, not a kind of forum thread or chat box. Especially since the site already has those, so why duplicate them?

Why ask, if you already have the answer?
