Yes...and here's why.

To NOT forgive, only hurts you....do it for yourself....to make sure you don't carry around the poison of unforgiveness...it can make you physically sick.

You don't have to forget (probably couldn't, if you tried), because it will be your reminder, and protect you from future incidences, but, you really need to forgive....then, you can move forward, with nothing keeping you "stuck".

Absolutely, but for your own sake not theirs. Forgiveness doesn't always mean that they get a second chance, it just means that you let go of the anger that will eat you alive if you let it.

RedDragon gave an excellent answer. Also, you can forgive someone and still no longer have anything to do with them. *hugs*

Technically, I know the correct answer is yes. But if someone hurt my child....no, I don't think I could ever forgive that.

The past is the past it can't be changed. A person has to decide how they will go on living, if they won't let go of their anger resentment ect. and if they want to keep bringing it up and not move on with the betterment of their lives then that's ultimately their decision.

Yes, I think we should forgive or we will be poisoned by bitterness.

But, I do agree with SeriouslySappy that if my child was hurt I'm not sure the answer would be the same.

hmmm I don't know. I feel the word 'Whatever' encombasses a lot of possible actions. I can forgive most things, but there are some things that I feel would take a huge amount of strength to forgive. To be honest, I feel there are some actions that don't deserve forgiveness.
