Where are you likely to spend more time? Buy that first.

A bed --- because you can sleep on a bed and sit on the bed.

I faced this dilemma after college. I rented a nice efficiency apartment and needed furniture, towels, flatware, etc.. everything.

Because my living room was also to be my bedroom(divided by a small partition but very open to each other and essentially one large room) I opted to get the bed first.

I decided sleeping was more important than entertaining and I could sit on the bed or at a small table and chairs until I got a sofa. My landlord there actually use to call my office and ask to show my apartment to prospective tenants and discount my rent for doing so.

So I would go with a bed again. I later purchased a lounger but never did get a sofa in that apartment because I didn't want it to feel too cramped.

I would recommend you first purchase the bed. As for other items go to yard sales, estate sales, Craigslist even Goodwill stores and look for useful things you can obtain cheaply. Prioritize what is necessary over what is desired. Imagine yourself waking up to begin your day. What will you need to prepare a meal, clean your teeth, yourself, your clothing, get dressed, etc.. then imagine yourself returning home and what you will then need and desire. Make that list with the most necessary items and start with them first. It doesn't take long to get what is necessary, even on a low budget if you take time. I was fortunate that I had a relative who owned a store that sold overstock merchandise from a series of retailers dirt cheap, then even cheaper for me. So I could at that time acquire many things for my apartment with very little money. Good luck and spend wisely :)
