Nothing but bias competing with bias.

Yes, and sometimes it cheers me up immensely. My parents and my best friends' families watch it and love Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell. I like them, too, but I check other sources for news, as well. MSNBC depicts the world as I'd like it, but not always as it actually is. ;)

Although I consider myself a conservative, I will not watch a "news source" that validates my world view. I understand how you feel, however. Sometimes that validation does cheer one up!

I honestly watch a bit of both, but I do so knowing that they're completely biased. Watching either network is like reading the editorial section of a newspaper, and as long as you don't confuse the content of either network as actual reporting, they can serve a purpose in terms of how arguments are shaping up.

One key difference is that MSNBC admits to being bias while Fox pretends to be "fair and balanced".

I'm sometimes irritated since I feel like those channels are generating the argument, rather than commenting on an already existing argument.

I think both receive talking points and then take them to air.
