So apparently not supporting Israel makes me a Anti-Semite...Thoughts?

I don't support Israel for Three very simple reasons:

1. Israel was founded on land the British controlled up until 1948 and called Mandatory PALESTINE. British forces left the country after Jewish Terrorists blew up hotels, british bases, and slaughtered civillians. The British declared the UN partition plan "unworkable" and unfair to palestinians.

2. They claim God gave them the land through Divine Mandate (and a subsequent slaughter of the Canaanites).Andrea yates said god told her to kill her kid, why is she in jail, but Zionism seen as valid? Also Apocalyptic Jews and Christians desperately need Israel's continued existence as proof "the end times are here".

3. I'm BY NO MEANS saying uproot the israelis and get rid of their government and move everyone out and turn it over to the palestinians. I'm just saying both sides will not rest until either they get every inch of land they want, or a war annihilates one or the other. It's suicide.....

    Could mean you are a free thinker with a opinion. I do not care either way personally. So much blood for so little land seems pointless.

    It's their religion. The temple of solmon needs to be rebuilt so the Apocalyptic Christians are CERTAIN that the anti-christ will announce his presence "any day now....", The Jews just believe god gave them the land....How you can claim land that people live on was "given to you by a magical sky fairy". Also the Muslims just mostly hate jews because of Israel. The stuff in the Koran can be "excused" because not all muslims hate jews.

    If they were the last two people standing I am sure one would try to bash the others head in with a rock. They could fight to regain that land but that approach has failed before.

    Ah yes, the familiar 'anti-Semite' nonsense...a cheap tactic designated to suppress debate, usually heard from ultra-conservative and Christian extremists who seem to have corralled that vital area of US foreign policy. I share the reservations about Zionist fervour and concerns over very serious conflict before some equitable solution to legitimate Palestinian demands is found. It's a period which can be sliced in different ways - one of which is as a monument to British Conservative aristocracy's imbecilic colonial meddling whose legacy has been trouble-spots all over the world. It is impossible to read Balfour's 1917 Declaration's "it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine" without feeling crushed by the irony of the outcome.

    I just worry that the same blind fervor that led us to Iraq, Afganistan and Guantanumo will lead America into a dark place. Hopefully one day both sides will finally say, "I quit." just like the IRA disbanded I look forward to the day that Hamas dissolves.....but that'll probably never happen.

    It's genocide, more like. It's not fair at all for the Palestinians. It's not anti-Semitic to not support a government. Arabs are Semites anyway.

    It's interesting to note Israel wont publicly admit they have nuclear weapons. J.F.K was concerned about the Israeli governments secrecy concerning inspection of its nuclear facility. After J.F.K's assassination, Lyndon B. Johnson apparently didn't follow up on insisting that the nuclear facility be inspected...

    I wouldn't call it Genocide since the Israeli government isn't actively killing or hunting down Palestinians (there are palestinian jews, muslims, and christians btw). I would call it Extreme oppression bordering on outright malice. And yes Israel having nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons has been a very well known suspicion for years. Since we don't bother to inspect their sites we will never know until Tehran becomes a glass pit or Israel announces they have it.

    Oh yeah, you're right - but it becomes unclear when soldiers are being trigger-happy and killing civilians and shelling civilian homes. Sorry, my fault - I used Semite to mean people who are from the Arabian peninsula.

    Make your own choices about Israel.
    The reason that accusation is illogical is because not being for it something is NOT the same as being against it. I'm not supportive of using heroin but I'm not against it either. (I don't use it).

    Being anti-Isreal does not make you anti-semitic, it makes you anti a government which is like saying I'm anti radical Islam, I'm not against Muslims as a whole but I'm against the religious radical fundamentalist that pervert Islam.

    If we back track that land we will go back over the thousand years. the solution can't be focused on the past but looking to the future

    I'm against any religion that seeks to impose their religion on me. That includes Christians, muslims, etc. I just am afraid that America's blind support of Israel will drag us into a war with Iran.

    It's more complex than just supporting Isreal and its an over-simplification to say we support Isreal we are going into war. The big issue in the middle east as of right now is the concept of power. Power is not infinite it is very finite and when Western ideas entered the culture in the middle east and woman asked to not walk behind the men in a burkah and not be raped and female circumcised they got nervous and the result is that they started hating America and the West. Yes, Isreal is a major factor but it is not the only factor. Religion in the right amount is a great thing in someones life.
