So... Christians... because Eve ate the apple babies are born with Down's syndrome?

Do you believe this? I thought the apple was supposed to give knowledge to man.

Your God seems like a huge douche. If you want to be enlightened you're a sinner.... how convenient.

Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, not apple. And yes, when sin entered the world, so did evil and illness. And the tree was called the "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil," not knowledge.

No, the fruit signifies self-awareness. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil they became self aware of themselves as an individual not as a part of something else. Genesis 3:5-7. This self-awareness of individuality is what led to free will and the ability of mankind to choose the path of good or the path of evil. This is how the bible describes the downfall of mankind and why we must strive for redemption because we are born with the innate abilities of right and wrong and struggle with them everyday. It also says that both Adam AND Eve are at fault because both disobeyed the one rule that God had laid before them. How we struggle with this is how we will be judged when our time comes. How about knowing something about a subject before you show how ignorant you are about it.

Can you actually claim to know the topic though? How many interpretations did it take to end up with that statement? You can pour sprinkles on a turn, but at the end of the day, it's still a turd.

I think that's how Fundamentalist Christians view that. If you're born with a disease, its becausenof Original Sin.

I was raised Catholic, Catholic school, church every Sunday, etc. And, I never heard it until I told my fundie friend about my medical issues I was born with. He told me it was because of mankind's sin. So, if Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins, and only Jesus could have made that sacrifice... why are people BORN into this world suffering for someone else's mistake? Makes no sense.

Actually, God's on son had to die to save our sorry a**es. Would you sacrifice yourself or someone you loved for a bunch of ingrate doubting douches?

Actually, God's OWN son never claimed to be the son God. I would gladly sacrifice myself for humanity, not offer a loved one in place. That's the move of a real douche.

Really? John 10:36-38; Luke 22:70. He never denies that he is. Only douchebags think they know everything. There's a difference between knowing everything and thinking you know everything.

Those darn woman, couldn't even make it one generation without messing everything up :-)....and seriously God.... you aren't all that bright either, setting up a tree in the garden of Eden and telling your kids to not eat from it and then shocked when they did. Any parent with even an ounce of sense would expect no other outcome with their children unsupervised (substitute apple for candy).
