No. Why should they be fined? I was recently laid off so I don't have insurance. A fine is the last thing I need with my $0.00 income.

No, Australia has Government subsidised Health Care as does the UK and parts of Europe. Fining people for having no health insurance wouldn't make any money, because people without PRIVATE insurance are usually living on or below the poverty line. Duh, bureaucracies are so inept.

Most definitely not. That doesn't even make sense! Health insurance is so darn expensive some people can't afford it---fining them sure isn't going to help them afford it any better!

no. people without health insurance either don't want it or can't aford it. either way it is wrong to fine them. thats like fineing someone for not buying an extended warenty on there car they asume that risk knowing it may bite them in the *** later or the can't aford it.

Heh, dream on, even though it was one short stint, I'm veteran status, so even if something odd like that occurred I'm sure I'd be at least taken care of by VA (there's a GREAT VA facility close by, they've helped me tons!).

As for everyone else...hmmm...MAYBE only if/when they end up needing eminent medical care...kind of similar to how it is with car insurance. If you don't have any, 'okay no prob', but as soon as you get pulled over or in an accident, then all heck breaks loose, fine-and-money speaking.

No. No where in the Constitution is the federal government given the ability to force anyone to buy anything. The government is highly overstepping their bounds with the whole bill.
