I liked the answer about vinyl better. Of course you can't listen to a CD or vinyl for that matter. You listen to the speaker.

You're supposed to get it transplanted into your skull and hooked up to your brain so you can listen to music directly. DUH.

I remember the day when I pulled out an old vinyl album and flipped it over; my kids, who were around 8 and 5 at the time, had their eyes pop out and raced up to their rooms suddenly realizing that their cds had a second side that they hadn't heard before. Technology doesn't make things better, it's just recycling the same old cr*p.

Let me get this straight, you to a store and bought a CD player without any idea what the thing does. Much less know what a compact disc is. I've watched music move from vinyl LP's and cassette tape in the late 70s to late 80s. I began switching my music over to CD's in the 90s. My mom is in the process of changing her movie collection from VHS tapes to DVDs as we speak. She will occasionally ask my brother and I for advice when transferring her music from cassettes and LP's to CD, so that she can continue to listen to the more irreplaceable albums she's accumulated from past decades.

what are you like 10 and an only child that was homeschooled? How do you not know about cd's? I'm 24 and my brother is 21 and we both burn our own cd's all the time. It hasn't been that long...

Why would you buy something which you need to ask what's it do?

A cd (compact disc) is a thin metal circular object that holds musical data invented in the mid 80s. A cd player is an small electrical object designed to play compact discs invented in the 90s.

It's called a record! Not a ******* vinyl. When something is on vinyl it's called a record. I have a few hundred and I'm sick of people saying, "So do you listen to vinyls?" It makes you sound like a moron.
