Pretty much the same thing, the same misguided drug war, same bellicose foreign policy, same keynesian economics, same free trade (the one thing they usually get right), same contempt for civil liberties, etc. The only right sacred to a Democrat is that of a woman to get an abortion.

All they want is to keep the ones in charge, that are already in charge. There will be no real change, unless the ones in charge decide that they want even more control.

Republicans are 60% rural, 87% Lilly white, and stand for "traditional" values meaning medieval small governments and Victorian ideals best suited to their agrarian lifestyle. Democrats are 90% urban, multicultural, and stand for progressive values meaning bigger government, better infrastructure, and tolerant values best suited to their urban lifestyles.

What they each want is your vote. They each have platforms that will tell you what they think is important to achieve short and long-term for the nation. The fact is, if you want to get involved, you have to do more than vote. You have to help shape the issues being discussed. You have to talk to people, gather signatures sometimes, correspond with your elected officials, etc. Voting Pub, Dem or third party just isn't enough.
