If you leave a small amount on your bills this could affect your credit rating
Its stupid....... if you dont pay in full they charge you a penalty
This is good when paying off a Credit Card....... because it shows that you can handle buying and paying on time. But with regular bills like electric, cable, phone, car payments, etc --it is not a good to leave any amount left over that is due each month.
It's a common practice in the UK for mortgages (loans against property). Here's the reason;
Title deeds are valuable documents. If you have them knocking around indoors you may loose them or accidentally destroy them. While you have a loan outstanding on the property, the lender will hold on to the deeds (as security against their loan). So if you leave a few pence outstanding, they will have the headache of keeping your documents safe and sound for you.
