Blast you! I was settling into "I Will Survive."
Now I gotta sit right back & hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip that started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour, A THREE HOUR tour for the rest of the damned day!
But wait, there's more:
The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed—if not for the courage of the fearless crew, The Minnow would be lost. The minnow would be lost!
(I won't leave you in suspense—that would just be cruel.)
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan
The Skipper too,
The millionaire and his wife,
The movie star ⭐️
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.

So this is the tale of the castways,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things—it's an uphill climb.
The first mate and the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In the tropic island nest.

No phone, no lights no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
As primative as can be.

So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castaways
Here on Gilligan's Isle

(Whew! I think I got it out of my system. You're welcome, everybody.)

lmao, you're good, and one hell of a memory.

Best Answer

I had to look part of it up (just the second verse ... which I don't think was used in the intro)

Best Answer

it was, I watched that stupid show every day, I still don't know why but I remember loving it.

Best Answer

No way — they didn't use it. Maybe they did. I'll look on YouTube. I watched it constantly for years, too, but I've lost a few brain cells since then.

Best Answer

I'm sure I've heard it many time and I never saw any of the movies, maybe the pilot episode? you've lost a few, I've only got one left.

Best Answer

Just checked. They didn't use the second part. The first ran over a minute.

Best Answer

Maybe in one of the 40 movies they made featured the entire song.
How long were they on that island and how did they get rescued?

Best Answer

I wasn't aware they ever did get rescued. must've been in one of the movies.

Best Answer

There are no full episodes on YouTube (USA) but there's a full length movie called 'Rescue From Gilligan's Island' (1978). And don't forget the preposterous visit by the Harlem Globetrotters. That's on there, too.
Well, now I've got my Friday night mapped out!

Best Answer

let me guess you're going to watch all the Gilligan's isle you can?

Best Answer

At least the Rescue movie.

Best Answer

you know all this talk has got that damned song stuck in my head now.

Best Answer

I watched an episode of "The Love Boat" recently and I'd forgotten how funny it was. I was a little too young (before it went into syndication) to fully appreciate it, although I did love it.

Best Answer

it was pretty good specially in the beginning pretty campy but good.

Best Answer

Gotta love camp!

Best Answer

A lot of those shows jumped the shark as it were. Except M*A*S*H. As I recall that ended with its dignity intact

Best Answer

intact, back to life and recovered.

Best Answer

Now there's a theme song one doesn't want stuck in one's head ... It was in mine the other day & they wouldn't let me post it as part of the question because it has Suicide in the title.

Best Answer

suicide is painless, great tune I love it.

Best Answer

It's not sustaining my attention. I'm 30 minutes into it but haven't really been watching. Just looked up and the Skipper & his Little Buddy are riding (and jumping) a shark.

Best Answer

just like the Fonz, the death of any show

Best Answer

It's unbearable (the rescue movie).

Best Answer

thank you i'll make it a point to not see it.
