South Africa Part of Africa at last, Still believe in Democracy?

Our Military (National Defense force) and Police are having a go at each other now, Yesterday 2008-08-26 The Army had strike and started to get violent and the police service had to step in there where injury's and damage to property, the army is also threatening that this is the begging of trouble if they do not get salary increases to their satisfaction, This Country Will End up like Zimbabwe, The product of the New South Africa (Strikes), or do you still think that democracy is working? T

I can't seriously believe a country where the defence force and police force are pitted against each other to maintain some form of peace during a protest will ever survive. It's laughable.

Democracy ended when Mandela retired from the ANC... RSA has been travelling the direction Zimbabwe has gone since then... I don't think it will get better.

That's why my family left.

In France there are (sometimes violent) strikes too. And it can get worse there: highway blocking, boss kidnaping and sabotage.

Strikes are a part of a capitalist democracy, but negotiations between the strikers and labour unions need to be realistic and effective. It really depends on what happens the following 7 days.

there are way too many people praying for us for our country to go backward...

look at the elections in 1994. so many international journalists were here awaiting a civil war and it didn't happen because people from America and Brittian interceded in prayer for us...
