Resolved Question

Stitches help?

We rescued a dog from the pound a few days ago and she has recently been de-sexed. She has a fairly big scar and about 5 stitches on her tummy.

She has been running around and playing, and now where the stitches go into her skin there are hard little lumps. There is no blood and these lumps feel like scar tissue, not swelling.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

*I am going to take the dog to the vet. I'm not frantically worried about it at the moment, I would just like some advice/experiences about the issue.

sounds like the dog is doing ok, You will feel better after the vet removes the stitches.
I had my dog fixed a month ago and I didn't think it was healing right so I waited a few extra days to remove the stitches. she is fine. If it had been bothering her she would have been licking the stitches trying to get them out

aww bless! should be fine i imagine its just part of the healing process. if it hurt she would have been licking or nibbling them. i imagine you would only need to worry if it looked septic or something. anyhow, talking to your vet is probably the best way to overcome any anxiousness -i would want to be sure too.
