Suspicious...? I say Yes?

Californian Highway Patrolman was driving a Toyota Lexis when the car raced out of control. While his borther-in-law called 911 from the back seat. All 4 occupents of the car died.

The reason is the carpet got caught on the accelerator. There for the brakes would not work.

My reason for finding it suspicious...

1. He was a Policeman. Yet his brother-in-law called 911.

2. If you look at the video properly you can see the car was a manual. There for all he had to do was pop it out of gear or put his foot on the clutch.

Yes the motor would have revved out and possibly blown but is that not better then risking your families lives. Again he was a Highway Patrolman so he would have known this.

@ CrystalClear1. You are probably right. All i am saying is that is what it looked like to me on the video.

@ redflame & derbinpoison I understand people freeze or panic but The Police are trained not too.

accidents are called that for a reason... state troopers can panic just like anyone else... and he was probably drunk anyway...

He was driving, so it was easier and safer for the BIL to dial 911. Seeing as it was a manual transmission, he could have even geared down till the car stalled and pulled the hand break... Then again, things happen so fast, he probably didnt have time to think and react rationally & logically.

Toyota doesn't make a manual shift in that make of automobile or their luxery line called lexus so yes it's sounds like BS.
