Swine Flu?

I have a bad cold. Jokingly, I suggested to Mom that it could be swine flu. She mentioned this to a friend who is (I think?) a nurse. I haven't been to Mexico or anything, but the lady Mom talked to said that there ARE mild cases in our area (nothing serious). So, Mom called the doctor's office and asked the receptionist about it, but she said that Swine Flu is accompanied by diarehha and vomiting (which I don't have). So, then we looked it up online, and there it said that vomiting and diarehha are only present SOMETIMES...and I have most of the other symptoms. Is there anything in particular I should be doing, just in case? I'm not going anywhere, washing my hands a lot, avoiding coughing on my family, etc, lol. Anything else I should know?

luckypickle	Posted Jul 23rd, 2009 at 2:30PM if you suspect swine flu go to your nearest ER and get tested!! lots of illnesses have all the same syptoms so it's doubtful that you actually have it but why take the chance? Rated: +1Vote for this!

firegod74	Posted Jul 23rd, 2009 at 2:37PM I agree with the others BUT.... A word of caution. A guy I work with went to the doctor because he had a cold. the possibility that he might have swine flue resulted in him being quarantined in his bedroom till tests could be completed and verified. Not just quarantined to his house, to his bedroom. So if you have enough symptoms of swine flu to warrant talking to a doctor and for me that would be a combination of more than a few, be ready for some alone time. Rated: +1Vote for this!
