It means you are sleep walking, I do the same thing. I used to lock myself in rooms and not be able to get out, and once I locked myself out of the house. I have gotten better at it though I guess, I no longer wake up in locked rooms that I didn't go to sleep in. I still sleep walk and eat food though.

I used to sleep walk, i'd wake up in the shower and there'd be no hot water left, turn on the range top, sleep talk, a few friends woke me up once while I was playing N64, they had no idea I was asleep, until they tried to speak with me. I was making no sense.
I still sleep talk.
