It's so far away from the rest of the world that we don't really matter in the whole scheme of things. Our country has no real world political weight so it makes me happier to think that often comical political outbursts made by disturbingly backward politicians don't get aired overseas and paint our country in a bad light. It still happens, but with far less frequency than we deserve.
